My Top Picks

My top three favorite TSA approved multi-tools come with a caveat, there are many multi-tools listed as TSA “Approved” but as the scare quotes may indicate there’s more to this story. Long story short, even TSA approved items get confiscated from time to time. To read more about why this would happen and more about TSA approved multi-tools, check out this article I wrote: Are TSA Approved Multi-Tools A Myth?

My Favorite

Leatherman Style PS: The Style PS may not have the frills and gimmicks that others do but with a solid core of basic tools and unmatched quality, makes it my top pick. Complying with the TSA’s no knife policy and being listed as TSA approved by Leatherman, this little guy should fly under the TSA’s radar.  (click here to check current price on Amazon) (paid link)

The Most Unique

Victorinox Jetsetter@Work 3.0: The Jetsetter@Work 3.0 has got to be the most unique TSA approved multi-tool. With a Removable 16GB USB thumb drive you can keep important documents, files or pictures close at hand. Besides the USB drive, it also has a few handy tools as well. Best Budget Option

Gerber Dime Travel: Even though the Dime Travel is the least expensive, name-brand multi-tools that I could find that was TSA approved, it is still packed full of neat features that anyone who travels regularly would find handy. (click here to check current price on Amazon) (paid link)
